About the Role

Woods Bagot is hiring a Design Technology Leader to join a global research and development team driving cultural change through technical innovation and design technology. We’d love to talk with individuals with backgrounds in both architecture and technology, and who have experience in the use of an ecosystem of technologies to design, collaborate, communicate, and deliver the next generation of architecture and interiors projects.

Built on a foundation of BIM and computation methods, this new ecosystem elevates augmented and informed design, collaboration, communication, and data flow across the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of Design Technology related methodologies and skills within the studio, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), parametric design and building analysis.
• Partner with design technology leadership in other studios to enable cross studio projects and enhance work for global clients.
• Improve project delivery outcomes through the application of appropriate design technology related techniques and strategies.
• Collaborate with the Global Design Technology Team to implement Woods Bagot’s Global Design Technology Strategy.
• Develop Woods Bagot’s reputation for design technology related expertise and quality project delivery, via participation in industry events and technical forums.
• Develop / deliver training to address skill gaps, with a goal of continuous improvement for all staff in design technology related tools and techniques.
• Review and address quality related aspects of BIM.
• Assist and collaborate with other Design Technology Studio Leads and the Global Design Technology Team to manage the needs of multi-studio or complex project teams.

About You

You will lead the London Studio’s design technology strategy, working collaboratively with the Studio Executive and the Global Design Technology Team. You will also be part of a global community of Design Technology Leaders helping develop and implement the next generation of technology-enabled design and delivery. As the successful candidate, you will have experience working with a collaborative, creative and resourceful team.

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5-10 years’ experience (or equivalent) of using BIM for the delivery of complex projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability use time effectively, maximise efficiency, and meet challenging goals.
• Ability to determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
• Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
• Strong knowledge of computer systems and software applications.
• Extensive experience with the use of technology on large and complex projects.
• Extensive knowledge of BIM practices, standards and techniques.
• Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• Knowledge of related BIM design and delivery tools (eg. Rhino, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Autodesk Collaborate / Collaborate Pro).
