The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Risk Specialist to join our small Risk team in our Melbourne Studio. Along with the interesting and varied work, your own personal and professional development will be supported through a range of employee benefits and programs.

The purpose of this role is to support, co-ordinate, analyse and implement the in-house operational risk needs of the global 7C business, including Woods Bagot, ERA-co, and Impact Futures. Reporting to the Global Risk Leader, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the risk management framework and related operational risk activities across the global operations. As this role will be supporting the global risk function in its everyday activities, you can also expect to have regular contact with other functions and key stakeholders across the business.

Your Responsibilities

You will support the Global Risk Leader across a range of operational risk activities associated with:

  • Developing and coordinating the global health and safety program.
  • Developing and implementing the business continuity framework.
  • Assist in the ongoing implementation of modern slavery risk management, including a supplier due diligence process.
  • Assist in the development of policies and risk management frameworks.
  • Assist in the oversight of project risk management, including developing supporting documentation.
  • Drafting risk management related communications for distribution to the global business.
  • Incident investigation to identify improvement opportunities and to mitigate risk (as required).
  • Responding to risk management related queries from across the global business.
  • Monitoring the global environment for risk management-related regulatory / legislative changes and developing appropriate response plans.

About You

You will bring a real passion for risk management within a professional services environment, working in a small, high performing and collaborative team. You’ll also be skilled at juggling competing priorities while also building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6 – 8 years’ experience working in a similar in-house operational risk role. This may have been acquired in a global architecture or design, engineering, property or construction, professional services, and/or a related industry.
  • Intermediate hands-on knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Technological adaptability is beneficial.
  • The demonstrated ability to think critically when extracting and interpreting information; to analyse data to identify trends and risks, and to think laterally about issues.
  • High-level of diligence, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • A mindset which enables you to multitask and manage time effectively, whether it is collecting or analysing data for reporting purposes or ‘putting in the hard yards’ as the need arises.
  • An ability to effectively develop, maintain effective relationships, communicate with senior leaders, and key stakeholders, and work with people at all levels, and relate well to people from varied backgrounds and in different situations.
  • Professional writing and verbal communication skills in addition to active listening skills
  • An ability to work as part of a global team and as well as independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to attend multi-jurisdictional meetings across multiple time zones.
