American Architecture Award celebrates Central Park North

Woods Bagot is proud to announce that Central Park North has been selected by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies for a 2024 American Architecture Award.

From a short list of 500 projects, a distinguished jury selected 150 projects including Central Park North in the Unbuilt Residential Building with Community Space category.

Since 1994, The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, together with The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press has honored the best new significant buildings, landscape projects and planning projects designed and/or built in the United States and abroad by the most important American architects and planners practicing nationally and internationally.

The American Architecture Awards serve as a vital window into the contemporary design landscape of the United States. Each year, the program showcases the most innovative and aesthetically compelling projects across various sectors, including commercial, corporate, institutional, and residential architecture. By highlighting these exemplary works, the awards provide a comprehensive snapshot of the current trends and creative directions shaping the built environment in America.

The awards provide valuable insights to professionals in real estate, finance, and business, while also educating the public about outstanding architectural achievements. The program aims to foster architectural literacy both nationally and internationally.

By recognizing excellence in architecture and urbanism, the awards highlight broader industry trends and innovations. They serve as a barometer for the field, promoting boundary-pushing design approaches and advancing the discourse on contemporary architectural thinking.

New York principal Matt Stephenson said, “Winning the 2024 American Architecture Award for our Central Park North project is a tremendous honor for Woods Bagot. This recognition highlights our commitment to innovative as well as our dedication to creating spaces that enhance community and elevate the urban experience in New York City.”
