Designed by Woods Bagot for Coronation Property, Mason & Main Stage One has won the prestigious UDIA NSW & Urban Property Award for Excellence in the Mixed-Use Development category.
Mason & Main Stage One comprises 434 build-to-rent apartments across three beautifully appointed buildings. Along with resort-style amenities and a vibrant ‘Eat Street’, the development delivers a new landmark destination only 5 minutes from Parramatta’s CBD.
Woods Bagot took an integrated approach to design that considered the local market and materiality of the construction. Drawing inspiration from the nearby brickworks and aqueduct, this approach applied a contemporary lens to the area’s rich heritage, resulting in a premium, new residential and lifestyle offering.
Domenic Alvaro, Woods Bagot Global Design Leader, says, “the vision is to deliver design-led, high-quality homes that not only enhance the living experience of its residents, but the community as a whole.”
Alvaro coins this vision ‘People Architecture’, noting that designing for the human experience is an integral part of Woods Bagot’s methodology.
“An iterative and collaborative process is imperative for the success of our work,” says Alvaro. “Intelligent planning leads to liveable spaces, innovative placemaking and curated precincts with high amenity. Mason & Main is a testament to this – tenants want to live in high-quality buildings with considered design and quality materials, and most importantly, a building that creates a sense of place, facilitating long-term homes and communities.”
Mason & Main Stage One was also recognised as a finalist in the Excellence in Apartments (High Rise) category alongside Coronation’s luxury development Ashbury Terraces in the Excellence in Marketing category.
Designed to highlight innovation, sustainability, industry leadership and excellence in urban development across the NSW and ACT, the annual UDIA NSW Awards for Excellence celebrates the best projects and leaders in the urban development industry.
