SUONE Gemdale Plaza has been selected as a Finalist in the Architizer A+Awards Unbuilt Commercial category!

Woods Bagot’s project is one of five in the world competing for the Popular Choice Award and voting is open to the public from May 1-12, 2023.

The new lifestyle destination in Suzhou combines history and modern shopping experiences for both locals and tourists. The design features a double skin facade representing a garden wall and a spectacular atrium, with multiple height terraces and rooftop gardens that mirror traditional Suzhou architecture. The use of natural materials, foliage, and water features create a calming environment, while striking features such as a lantern tower and rooftop amphitheater add interest. The building’s mass and facade design emulate the scale, proportion, and language of traditional Suzhou dwellings.
