Transforming urban spaces in the WIN Awards

Hysan Place, Hong Kong

Woods Bagot is celebrating a significant milestone with four of our innovative projects being shortlisted for the prestigious 2024 World Interior News (WIN) Awards. These projects showcase the firm’s expertise in creating dynamic, culturally resonant spaces that enhance user experiences and contribute to the urban landscape. From revitalizing a commercial hub in Hong Kong to crafting sustainable and nature-inspired offices in Singapore and China, Woods Bagot continues to push the boundaries of design excellence.

Hysan Place, Hong Kong

Retail & Consumer Design

This commercial hub comprises a high-rise retail mall and office building and 42,000 square metres of integrated retail, dining, leisure and civic space in the heart of the busiest retail district in Hong Kong. Woods Bagot was brought onboard to rejuvenate Hysan Place as a gateway to Lee Garden district and Causeway Bay through a memorable arrival moment, enhanced circulation, and multifaceted visitor experiences.

The once-neglected outdoor space is now a lively urban park with skateboarding facilities, a new central hub on the fifth floor connecting the multi-level retail precinct. The basement levels are transformed into an underground shopping and dining destination, blending retail and F&B seamlessly and extending the transport precinct.

“We strive to transform Hysan into a dynamic urban expression,” says Woods Bagot Principal Billy Ip. “It isn’t just a retail space, it’s a living canvas where urban culture and modern design converge.”

Hongxing Tourism Headquarters , China

Corporate Offices (5,000 – 10,000 sqm)

Vibrant cultural and tourism hub. Woods Bagot’s design integrates the company’s dynamic culture with the coastal landscape, creating a workspace that’s both energetic and connected to nature. The lobby serves as a gateway, linking various areas, while an open multifunctional area offers panoramic views, allowing employees to enjoy the natural surroundings. The bright atrium is a focal point, reflecting Hongxing’s visual identity and promoting a harmonious flow between public and private spaces.

Woods Bagot Principal Ray Yuen reflects, “We aspire for this new workplace to imbue its staff with the freedom of the wind, the depth of the sea, and the resilience of trees—an embodiment of a biophilic/nature-driven workplace.”

Investment Management Co., Singapore

Corporate Offices (2000 – 5000 sqm)

Experience the pinnacle of corporate hospitality in the two-story penthouse office at MBFC Tower, offering a panoramic view of the city. Step into a front-of-house area that celebrates the marina view, with an intricate spiral staircase connecting both floors as the central architectural feature. The design modernizes traditional elements, reflecting our commitment to excellence and cultural resonance. High-quality craftsmanship and stylized cultural references create a sophisticated ambiance, blending Peranakan motifs with art deco curves and local granite stone details.

Woods Bagot Senior Assocaite Elena Ma notes, “The office transcends being just a workspace; it’s a testament to our client’s values and their commitment to their clients. By borrowing the authenticity of materials and the intricacy of detailing, we reflect their dedication to their work.”

Insurance Services & Consultant Co., Singapore

Corporate Offices (2000 – 5000 sqm)

Optimized for growth and comfort, the 2,700 sqm office space in Guoco Midtown, Singapore, is designed to accommodate 250 staff with ample natural light and panoramic city views.
