W-B’s vision of People Architecture is the foundation of our services which include design, research, data analytics, and consulting. Celebrating diversity across all cultures, free from a signature style, People Architecture is propelled by a shared sense of empathy where the values of end users and the values of design are one and the same. Our designers place human experience at the centre of our design process to deliver engaging, future-oriented projects that respond to the way people use and flexibly accommodate changes through space.
These awards stand as a testament to Australia’s vibrant design community, celebrating innovation, ethics, and impactful design. Winners will be announced at the Award of Merit Celebrations in late August.

Embedded in the fabric of Perth since the 1930s, the Bassendean Hotel has been cast forward from a bygone era through a close collaboration between Woods Bagot and Ark Group. ‘Basso’, as it’s affectionately known to locals, has undergone a two-year redevelopment, with the two-storey building now featuring six bars and nine signature zones paying tribute to the history of the pub and its owners. Principal Eva Sue says that Woods Bagot’s design spun out from a deep understanding of Bassendean Hotel’s multi-layered history and an ambition to reinstate the corner hotel’s role as the community’s social and cultural heart.
