Fostering The Next Generation Of Architects

At Woods Bagot, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of architects and designers, actively engaging with students to provide insights into the profession and support their career development.

The London studio recently participated in two key events: the RIBA Future Architects Practice Visit and the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture Careers Fair, reflecting our dedication to inspiring and guiding the future talent.

RIBA Future Architects Practice Visit

Led by Yin Hui Chung, Associate at Woods Bagot, in collaboration with RIBA, the London studio welcomed 26 architecture students from University of Greenwich, Ravensbourne University London, University of East London, London Southbank University, and Kingston University. The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with our architects and designers, learn about the London studio’s diverse portfolio of projects, and gain insight into the design process at Woods Bagot.

Aurelia Amanitis, Regional Engagement Partner at RIBA London shared her thoughts on the visit: “This was one of the most comprehensive practice visits RIBA Student Members have experienced. The students found it incredibly valuable to learn about the diverse Woods Bagot projects and to engage with architects during the talk and afterwards. We are very grateful for Woods Bagot’s ongoing support of our Future Architect initiatives, whether through the Mentoring Programme or hosting practice visits, and look forward to future collaborations.”

Our engagement with RIBA’s Future Architects program underscores our broader commitment to mentorship and professional development, ensuring that students gain real-world exposure to the industry.

AA School Careers Fair

London studio representatives, Miki Karczewski and Alessandro Longo attended the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture Careers Fair to connect with Part 1, Part 2 and Postgraduate Programme students. Miki, an AA alumnus who has completed all stages of architectural education at the school, has maintained a strong relationship with the school and working as a mentor for the students.

The Woods Bagot booth featured brochures, postcards, models, and a rolling video presentation, providing students with a comprehensive introduction to Woods Bagot’s project and culture.

Reflecting on the event, Miki shared: “It was a great opportunity to see the impressive work of AA students and share insights about Woods Bagot, our design philosophy, and studio environment. We received numerous CV’s and portfolios on the day, followed by many kind emails with positive feedback. The event was a great success.”

Shaping the Future of Architecture

Woods Bagot’s involvement in these events reinforces our role in shaping the future of architecture by supporting students at a pivotal stage in their education. Engaging with students through mentorship, design reviews, and career fairs allow us to provide them with a clearer understanding of the profession, industry expectations, and the depth of opportunities available.

By fostering our relationship with institutions such as RIBA and the AA, Woods Bagot London continue to champion architectural education, ensuring that emerging architects are well-equipped to navigate their careers with confidence and creativity. We look forward to continuing these valuable initiatives and supporting the architects of tomorrow.
