The global Woods Bagot team came together in London for a series of dynamic presentations and industry events. From attending the prestigious CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) International Conference to participating in impactful roundtables, the team was well-represented and fully immersed in the industry’s latest developments.
The annual CTBUH conference took centre stage, with several members of the global team coming together in London. Representing three continents, Matt Stephenson and Hiroe Fujimoto from New York and Los Angeles, along with Samer Charara from Dubai, joined forces with London’s James Taylor, Simon Saint, Florian Frotscher, and James Khamsi. Throughout the week, they attended multiple sessions, dinners, and receptions, making the most of this networking opportunity.
A particular highlight came when Gwyn Richards from the City of London mentioned the exciting 85 Gracechurch Street project during his talk, marking a significant highlight. Matt Stephenson also took to the stage, delivering a compelling presentation titled “Breathing New Life into Old Buildings.”
Outside the conference, the team continued to broaden opportunities. Simon Saint and James Khamsi led an insightful tour of Elephant Park for our Australian collaborators in town for the event, including ADP, Scape, TTW, Hotel, Lendlease, and Generate Property. This tour offered a deep dive into one of London’s transformative developments, emphasizing the project’s impact and vision.

In addition to the CTBUH events, Simon Saint and Florian Frotscher attended an exclusive roundtable hosted by Opportunity London and ADP. This exclusive gathering brought together 24 senior property leaders and executives, including key figures from The Crown Estate, QNB, Argent, Plenary Group, Landsec, Investec, and Lendlease, alongside the Deputy Mayor of London, Tom Copley. Simon was invited by the hosts to present upcoming thought leadership, offering a sneak peek into how Build-to-Rent (BTR) can add value to Life Sciences developments.
Saint shares, “We were lucky to share some great conversations with industry leaders, as well as discussing housing and the future of life sciences with the Deputy Mayor of London, not a bad way to end the week!”

In conjunction with CTBUH, Julian Cross and Simon Saint also attended the London Real Estate Forum at London’s Guildhall amongst 1500 industry leaders. Covering topics such as retrofit infrastructure, offices, life sciences and energy transformation, it was an insightful and compelling event. To add to the discussions of the event, Simon Saint was invited to a roundtable with The Crown Estate, Criterion Capital, Westminster Council, JLL and the NLA to debate how the Great Estates can be part of London’s future.

In another impactful moment last week, Kayla Csazar, Silvia Vian, and Simon Saint attended an event hosted by ADP Consulting, focused on discussions about boosting the visibility of women in real estate, a critical topic for the industry. A panel of senior female leaders from Scape, Hines, Grey Lemon, and Atkins/Realis led the conversation, with Silvia Vian summing it up with: “such an exciting future is here for us to build.”

Last week’s events provided many opportunities for the studio to connect, present, and collaborate on new ideas. With key projects such as 85 Gracechurch Street continuing to garner attention, and new insights shared from thought leadership on BTR and Life Sciences, the team look forward to building on this momentum in the coming weeks. A special thanks to everyone who attended and represented the global studio!
