The Hotel AMANO Covent Garden recently opened its doors for the annual Festival of Hospitality, a programme of online and in-person events that focus on the buzzing hospitality sector in London.
Woods Bagot Associate Principal & Hotel Sector lead, Davide Bertacca, and Senior Associate and Interior Designer, Brooke Radtke, led three different tours throughout the Festival.
Working closely with the clients Excellion Capital and AMANO Hotel Group, Davide led on the refurbishment design, while Brooke led on interiors. Both were able to give a glimpse into the extensive inside-and-out design approach, and how they were able to bring the AMANO brand successfully over to the UK.
The Hotel AMANO Covent Garden began welcoming guests earlier this year. Woods Bagot’s design brought a new lease of life to the once 1980s office building, transforming it into a unique boutique destination hotel and reconnecting this part of Drury Lane with the ongoing buzz of Covent Garden. The Hotel AMANO Covent Garden comprises 141 guest bedrooms and a roof top bar, as well as a roof terrace offering one-of-a-kind panoramic views over Central London – it will also be opening a new restaurant at ground level, Penelope’s, later this year.

The completion and successful launch of The Londoner is a signal of the revival of London and a confidence in our city’s future as a springboard out of a global pandemic
