The Woods Bagot Dubai studio is delighted to share an update on yet another stunning new waterfront development in Dubai.
Bluewaters Bay is a luxury residential development, comprised of two towers, sitting adjacent to the Bluewaters Island Masterplan and boasting uninterrupted views to the Arabian Gulf, Ain Dubai, and city Skyline. In total, there are 672 units, made up of 1-,2-,3-, and 4-bedroom apartments.
The design team has been assigned by the client, Dubai Holdings Real Estate, to develop a residential product within the Meraas portfolio. The goal is to leverage the exceptional site location and establish a new standard for an exceptional waterfront lifestyle.
The design concept for the project has been strongly influenced by the notion of the ‘Beachfront Lifestyle’, which is reflected in the overall aesthetic of the building. The design team has adopted a minimalistic approach, prioritizing clean lines and a sleek, modern design that aligns with the Meraas brand identity. A predominantly white colour palette has also been selected, to accentuate the simplicity of the building’s form and to create a sense of harmony with the surrounding environment.
These towers are defined by the Bluewaters lifestyle on the ocean, connected to light, air and energy. By standing tall and complementing the iconic Ain Dubai, the project offers breathtaking views of the sea and is a place where visitors and residents can connect with their true selves, in an unprecedented setting.
This development also serves as a vital bridge between Bluewaters Island and the adjacent plot, creating a seamless public realm that connects to Bluewaters Island and enhances the quality of life for its residents and visitors.
Principal, Priya Mrinal comments: “As architects, we are passionate about creating meaningful spaces that enhance the lives of the people who inhabit them. This project is important to us because it represents a chance to use our expertise and creativity to design a building that not only meets our client’s needs, but also sets a new standard for residential architecture.
“Bluewaters Bay us a tremendous opportunity for the client and the end-user – offering an enhanced quality of life with a beautiful and functional design.”
Principal, Samer Charara, also comments: “The design values of Bluewaters Bay embrace Dubai’s vision as a leading world class city. Woods Bagot and our client have created a waterfront residential destination that completes its context.”
The project began in 2019, when Woods Bagot completed the concept design stage. In mid-2022, the client approached us again to assist with the launch, which was a major success. Both towers sold out within just a matter of days. We are now in the schematic design stage. Handover is scheduled for 2027.
