Lucian Gormley

Principal

Known for his human approach to large-scale public infrastructure projects, Lucian finds inspiration in the interplay between conceptual sketches and the built environment. Believing that ‘good architecture exists somewhere between the sketch and the brain’, Lucian embraces the creative tension between abstract ideas and tangible forms.

With a diverse portfolio spanning transport, education, health and urban development projects, Lucian’s work is characterised by its profound impact on the public realm and its ability to reshape how people interact with their environment. His approach is rooted in a deep appreciation for context and placemaking, always considering a project’s ambition, its contribution to place, and how it can enhance the entire region.

Lucian’s experience in leading and delivering major projects that impact a critical mass of people is exemplified by his work on the Sydney Metro Crows Nest Station and the Stage 01 Design for the Over Station Development at The Bays as part of the Sydney Metro West Delivery (EDS). With a focus on shapes, colours, and form, Lucian unlocks spatial possibilities that respond organically to their settings and forge emotional connections between people and their surroundings.
