Sprawling multi-level inner city oasis provides a range of curated spaces in venue that honours its historical past as a market site.
Market Grounds is the embodiment of the contemporary Aussie pub at the heart of the Perth CBD. It pays homage to the original Perth Market Grounds which was on the same site, and combines Perth’s food and beverage culture with the outdoor lifestyle. The pub provides a creative and authentic response to the site and location.
This was achieved through the creation of a series of eclectic and authentic hospitality experiences throughout the multi-level space, delivered with a hand-finished, local quality.
Talk to Eva Sue about Hospitality
The design celebrates the grand volume of the space. Significant additions include the extension of the upper floor and lightweight mezzanine lounge, which morphs into a sweeping bulkhead floating over the main bar. The result conceptualises intimate and diverse zones, where big scale architectural statements are balanced with a richly layered, sculptural and tactile interior palette within a largely unfinished shell.
Spanning three levels and two alfresco zones, the multi-faceted design is united by sinuous lines, organic forms, honest use of materials, and a relaxed patron experience. The layout maximises visual and physical connectivity, encouraging patron flow throughout the space and engagement with the public realm.
The venue seamlessly transitions from day to evening ambiance, offering a light hearted, relaxed and vibrant destination with a unique brand and visual identity.
